I subscribe to many Honduran blogs for my volunteer work for Global Voices Online. Today, a new article from the El Investigador blog, brought this collection of Honduran political cartoons to my attention.

Unfortunately, they are not licensed under flickr’s creative commons, so I can’t show them here. I wonder how El Investigador obtained them, they’re not scanned from newspapers, they’re originals. Some are by Banegas, and McDonald, among the best Honduran cartoonists.

Some of my favorites are:

The article that got me there is a scathing accusation of corruption by El Investigador, prompted by a response to yesterday’s highly publicized murder of judge Alba Leticia Bueso, of San Pedro Sula (La Prensa, El Heraldo, La Tribuna, Tiempo). The article states that the Honduran justice system is “corrupt to the bones”, and calls for the resignation of Vilma Morales and Rosa Bautista, “if they have a millimeter of love for Honduras”.
