50 Thousand Hondurans Celebrating Our Constitution

6

Posted by Aaron Ortiz | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 30-06-2009

According to El Heraldo, 50 thousand people came to listen to President Michelleti and General Romeo Vasquez speak at the central plaza of the capital today. Although not much, 50 thousand is one out of every 20 citizens of Tegucigalpa. I bet many more would have come if there were not so much fear in the news.

With the world in his pocket, Mel Zelaya has said he’ll return to Honduras on Thursday, together with the presidents of Ecuador and Argentina. Things could get very ugly, I hope he won’t get shot. It seems he wants to be a martyr, which would help Chavez very much. May he be safely and promptly arrested, and detained publicly, so he can’t allege mistreatment by the Honduran police or armed forces.

I am praying for peace, and for Mel and Hugo to make big miscalculations. Returning to Honduras so soon seems to be a blunder, unless, Mel is, like Chavez in 2002, intending to provoke the opposition in order to let them destroy themselves. If you believe in God, please help me pray for peace. It is of vital importance that no one harm Zelaya.

As I said in my earlier post, please email your president and your congresspeople, and let them know how you feel about this, and what your opinion is. Democracy and truth, may they prevail, and may there be peace.

Another Refreshing View on the Honduras Constitutional Crisis

I know many of you may mistrust Fox News. I know you might think they are biased. Nevertheless if you were to examine the local press in Honduras for the past few months as I have, you would know they are telling the truth. Please read La Gringa’s blogicito, Laurie’s Blog Spot, Sowers For Pastors, for the opinions of American citizens living in Honduras.

I am praying for God to confuse Chávez and Zelaya, so their pride will blind them and lead them into a mistake. I am also praying for absolute peace, let not 1 person become a martyr for either side. And finally, I’m asking God to make the truth known and to use Honduras to make an example to the world, for good for once!

We live in an information age, where who ever controls the information is the one who controls everything. No matter what your nationality is, please email your president and your legislators, and let them know how you feel and what you think about the current situation in Honduras.

Please email them with your opinions and help us get the truth out!

A clear and concise article presenting the truth in a major media outlet. How refreshing.

Chávez Won Before the Fight

1

Victorious warriors win first, then go to warSun Tzu

Now Chávez’s tactics have been made clear. And I fear, the result may be a resounding victory. Sunday’s referendum was a trap. He would win if everyone voted, through fraud. But Chávez’s victory is even greater now that Mel Zelaya was ousted, because he invented the lies that are being proclaimed by the media, which everyone, even the US government, swallowed, hook line and sinker. Chávez won the war before the fight.

This is how he did it, controlling his puppet Mel Zelaya:

  1. Be blatantly warlike in talk, but not in action
  2. Provoke the opposition to fight too hard against him, and commit extreme acts
  3. Prepare the media limelight
  4. Let the opposition destroy themselves in front of the eyes of all the world
  5. Collect the booty.

I fear that Chavez has installed another satellite nation in Honduras, using exactly the same method he used to get into power. His provocative speeches, rife with insult and vilification, make him appear as dangerous as he truly is. But, instead of following through on his words, he stepped back at a crucial moment, and let the opposition make the first strike, destroying their credibility, and using the law against them.

But, I read a different tone in the way the US is labelling “the event” now. They are no longer calling it a coup, and are showing hopeful signs of understanding the problem. They condemn Sunday’s arrest of Zelaya, but aren’t demanding his return to power, as others are. I only hope others, like the UN, the OAS and the EU can see the light as well, before it is too late.

Mel, Chávez, Ortega Plotting the Real Coup in Nicaragua

Everyone is talking about the coup in Honduras. But only because “coup” is the word Chávez spoon-fed the media a few days ago. There has been no coup. The military are not in power in Honduras. An interim president has been appointed, and almost his first statement was that elections will be held as planned in November. But almost everyone was hoodwinked.

But right now, an emergency meeting of the entire ALBA is taking place in Nicaragua. This is Venezuelan Telesur’s highly biased article about it (Google translation). Chavez is there. I am sure they’ll try to overthrow the new government and establish a dictatorship. Chávez is bringing us to the brink of war!

This is playing exactly like how Chávez got into power in Venezuela in the first place. He was ousted for a few days…but made such a strong comeback, that he embarrassed the US and the world for backing his enemies.

I fear Mel will succeed. And our democracy will suffer greatly for it.

Honduran Newspaper Websites Crashing

La Tiribuna, a newspaper friendly with Mel, is still online. But El Heraldo, one of Mel’s chief opponents is down. SIGH. I wonder what’s going on, and hope it’s just that the website couldn’t handle the traffic.

Mel Zelaya has been Arrested

Mel Zelaya has been arrested! Mel Zelaya has been arrested! I never expected it! But…now what? Rumors are flying already, some saying Nicaraguans armed with hand grenades are prowling the country.

The arrest took place around 6 am local time, according to an El Heraldo article. The article also states that electricity in the capital city has been cut. The president’s whereabouts are unknown.

May the law be upheld. May peace prevail. May Venezuela use only useless words, but no shots! I hope this is not a repeat of the coup which put Chávez in power after everything seemed to turn against him.I will update as the situation becomes clearer.

Boycotting a Referendum is Suicide

8

Posted by Aaron Ortiz | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 27-06-2009

Abstention is suicide in an election. But, because the Honduran Congress has declared Sunday’s referendum illegal, no one will vote except Mel Zelaya’s supporters. Only “yes” votes will be registered, guaranteeing an apparent victory for Mel’s reelection proposal.

This already happened a few years ago in Caracas. The opposition boycotted the Congressional vote because Hugo Chavez didn’t play fairly. The result: a 100% Chavista legislature! Although the referendum isn’t deciding something as momentous as seats in the legislature, I fear the perverse logic behind such a stance plays directly into the hands of Chavez.

Chavez’s favorite tactic is double. He twists the meaning of the words the opposition might use against him, pre-empting their responses, and then pushes them into a position where the most logical defense is actually a suicidal trap. I fear what Zelaya, Ortega, Evo Morales, Fidel and Chavez will be saying on Monday. An evil choir of truth-mangling autocrats will sing victory regardless of whatever happens at the polls.

I would prefer the Honduran Congress to launch a massive campaign to get EVERY Honduran to vote. Most would vote NO, and Mel would lose by a landslide! Abstention is suicide in an election.

Video of Mel Seizing Ballots

Posted by Aaron Ortiz | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 26-06-2009

This is a video of Mel Zelaya Seizing the ballots for his intended referendum on Sunday to see if the constitution needs reform. If you look up “Honduras golpe” (Honduras cuop) on YouTube, you can see that the Chavez propaganda engine has been quick to pre-empt any action to uphold the laws of Honduras as a coup.

The most transparent thing about this is that the ballot material was printed in Venezuela and arrived by plane hours before this situation. Chavez, a skilled Orwellian autocrat, is the one who has had this all planned. His goal: to extend his power and create another satellite nation. By accusing the opposition of doing exactly what he’s doing, he can turn black into white, and turn the people against the rule of law.

God help us against this master strategist. The only good thing is that Mel isn’t the genius, Hugo is. My hope is that Mel will make more blunders, such as turning the armed forces against him. May his presidency end when the law says it will end. I am not saying it should end today. But I doubt Chávez or Mel will sit still and allow that to happen.

If there is a coup. May it be peaceful, and may the viper-tongued Chávez be defeated. Down with liars! Down with hypocrites! Down with the Stalinistic propaganda that has robbed us of Cuba and Venezuela.

Mel Zelaya Seizes Ballots for Referendum

Hugo Chavez accused the Honduran Congress and the military of staging a coup. Today they annuled Mel’s arbitrary decision to fire the chief of the armed forces (CNN) because he is against a referendum this Sunday. This referendum is about adding a fourth ballot box in November’s election to determine if sitting president Mel Zelaya could run for office again. Today, with a crowd of followers, he stormed the headquarters of the Air Force, to retrieve ballot boxes that had been removed after Congress declared the referendum illegal.

Congress is investigating Zelaya (El Universal), to see whether he is fit to govern, which could lead to his destitution. They have also passed a resolution to reinstate the Chief of the Armed Forces, Romeo Vasquez, a resolution Zelaya is ignoring (BBC). Therefore, Hugo cries wolf and says the efforts of congress and the integrity of the military in upholding the law against Zelaya amounts to a coup (El Universal).

God please confuse Hugo and Mel’s plans. I want to have a country to return to someday.
