Going to Honduras

In a few hours I hope to be back in La Ceiba for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. The celebration will be held, God willing, on Saturday at the golf club. I hope Mel’s return will not occur simultaneously so I can concentrate on making it the best time possible for my parents, my family and me. If there’s a peace march there, expect pictures!

I’m signing off so I can get some sleep before the trip.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this message in my inbox today:

Mr. Ortiz,

I have no idea what my president, Obama, is thinking, or why he has lined himself up with Chavez and Castro in your legitimate ouster of Zelaya. all I can say is that most freedom loving Americans back your right to a free and Democratic society. you did the right thing! And I only wish you and all the Honduran people peace, prosperity, and happiness.

God bless you all

One Hundred Thousand People March Against Zelaya

Babalú Blog, in a post named “Home of the Free” has published this amazing picture, taken from website, The Real Cuba, of yesterday’s march.

The Chicago tribune, in contrast, reported protests IN FAVOR of Zelaya, and with a major understatement, that “There were also large protests in the capital against the return of Zelaya.”.

Infuriatingly deliberate misleading of the public.
