Manuel Zelaya has announced in Radio Globo, that he is currently in Honduras, and is being protected in the United Nations building in Tegucigalpa. He has said he will hold a press conference soon. Hugo Chavez backed his story, and Micheletti has denied this, saying that Zelaya is currently in a “quiet hotel suite in Managua.”

The pro-Zelaya media have rushed to confirm his statement (it occurred 20 minutes ago). And others merely say that the situation is unclear.

I cannot guess what he hopes to achieve except a distraction for something bigger. Who knows?
