AFP Softens Zelaya’s Lie

Zelaya repeatedly said that he would not accept returning to the presidency if this would “cover up the coup”. but apparently he made comments on Radio Globo saying that he is not sure any more. Wait a minute. What about the furious letter he wrote to Obama refusing reinstatement? Who can now insist that Zelaya is fit to govern?

This is how the AFP, who has consistently skewed their reporting in favor of Zelaya, reported his comments:

“Zelaya has suggested that he will not resume the presidency even if Congress votes him back in, saying a US pact which left the decision to Congress had failed after lawmakers delayed the debate.

He remained on the fence Wednesday about whether he would accept to return.

“I honestly can’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no,’” Zelaya told Radio Globo.”

Notice the word “suggested”. He had made it abundantly clear, orally, and in written form. But AFP says he only “suggested” it, revealing their deep bias and disrespect for their readers and for the truth.
