Those who defend Hugo Chávez need to see this documentary. The Tascón list is a list of all the voters who put their name, their fingerprint, and their social security numbers, in the 2004 recall referendum against Chávez. They were branded as “traitors” and summarily stripped of all government jobs. Chávez then “buried” the list, causing a massive “black is white” campaign of denial by those who were most ardent in using it against its signatories.
Regardless of left or right, the cult of personality Hugo Chavez has created is what makes his “presidency” a democratic dictatorship. The opposition are completely unable to remove him, the system is unbeatable, while maintaining a facade of democracy.
