Nokiakovsky

I created a ringtone for the Nokia tune remake contest being held at the AudioDraft website. For it I was inspired by the celesta, the heavenly sounding cross between the piano and xylophone that Tchaikovsky introduced to the world in his Nutcracker Suite. Indeed the ringtone is based on his Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, an iconic composition with quirky contrapuntal harmony.

According to Larissa Kirillina, the image above is a celesta purchased by Tchaikovsky for the performance of his Suite.

I hope everyone will check it out at http://nokiatune.audiodraft.com/entry/404. If you like it, please rate it, and feel free to share it. I am not sure if I am allowed to offer it for free, although apparently some people have already discovered a way to download the contest entries from the AudioDraft website. Don’t tell anyone….
